Biomass Power Plant
On February 4, the No. 1 Central Document of 2018, "Opinions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council on the Implementation of the Rural Revitalization Strategy" was released. The document defines the objectives and tasks of implementing the rural revitalization strategy.
In this document, there are two energy-related content-
First, in the part of "Promoting the Upgrading and Upgrading of Rural Infrastructure", it is proposed to promote the development and utilization of rural renewable energy;
Second, in the "Continuous Improvement of Rural Human Settlement Environment" section, it is proposed to promote the replacement of rural coal in northern areas, and promote the use of coal to gas, coal to electricity and new energy in an orderly manner where conditions permit.
Among new energy sources in rural areas, biomass energy such as straw is an important component. But at present, open burning of straw is still common, which leads to reduced air quality and is prone to fire hazards.
Therefore, how to effectively use biomass resources such as straws and promote their effective utilization is undoubtedly a key step to achieve the goal of beautiful rural construction.
On February 3, just before the release of the "Opinions", the Rural Biomass Application Technology Seminar and High-efficiency Biomass Gasification Power Generation Technology Experience Exchange Conference was held in Beijing.
At the meeting, experts from the National Energy Administration, Ministry of Agriculture and other ministries and commissions, the National Renewable Energy Center and other institutions, as well as representatives of Gaoyou Linyuan Technology, Jiangsu Jintongling and other enterprises, discussed how to efficiently use rural biomass energy to achieve " Make agriculture a promising industry, make farmers an attractive profession, and make the countryside a beautiful home for living and working in peace and contentment".
Biomass gasification, that is, under certain thermodynamic conditions, with the help of air and water vapor, the biomass polymer undergoes pyrolysis, oxidation, reduction and reforming reactions, and finally converted into combustible gas.
Ren Dongming, director of the Renewable Energy Center of the Energy Institute of the National Development and Reform Commission, and deputy director of the National Renewable Energy Center, pointed out that compared with the "12th Five-Year Plan", the biggest change in the "13th Five-Year" biomass energy development task is to put bio-natural gas in first place. It is not difficult to see that the comprehensive utilization of biomass gasification may be the focus of development in the next few years.
The reason for this change may be related to the higher efficiency of gasification utilization, more flexible industrial routes, and more advantageous prices.
From a technical point of view, biomass energy gasification power generation adds a "gasification" step, but in fact it is a technological "combination punch". Xu Deping, a professor at the School of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering at China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), believes that direct combustion of traditional biomass will not have stable heating efficiency, but first gasification and reuse will help improve the utilization efficiency of raw materials.
From the perspective of utilization mode, biomass gasification can realize the combined supply of gas, electricity, heat, tar, and fertilizer. At present, the 10MW high-efficiency biomass fixed-bed gasification power generation project of Gaoyou Linyuan Science and Technology Development Co., Ltd. has achieved power generation on the grid. Industrial boilers for tar recovery and biomass gas applications have been marketed. The bio-carbon-based compound fertilizer project with an annual output of 50,000 tons of carbon powder after gasification will be put into operation in May this year.
From the perspective of development costs, the combustion performance of biomass briquettes is similar to that of medium coal, and the price is 500-800 yuan/ton. If it is used to replace coal, the fuel cost will increase slightly, but it is still far less than "coal-to-gas". the cost of. For the vast rural areas with relatively low per capita income, low cost is a prominent advantage of biomass energy.
